Question:

Should I remove my headlight or go through the fender to get to the windshield wiper pump?

I have a 98 Pontiac Grand Prix. The fluid is not dispensing. There is plenty of fluid. The nozzles are not clogged. I changed the fuse. So I‘m thinking it‘s the pump. I searched the problem but could only find advice for several different cars, unfortunately not mine. I don‘t have a tester so I‘m taking a chance buying a new pump. I doubt they will give me a refund if that is not the problem.

Answer:

You shouldn't be on the road until your more confident. Your a danger to yourself and others. That bike is too much for a beginner.
If you can remove the plastic that surrounds the wheel you can go in that way easier. Yes those pumps do fail. A new pump is an easy install if you can splice wires. Make sure you get a rubber grommet with your new pump. They like to leak after ten years old.
If one of the lines is not broken and the pump isn't working can't you just remove the front brace and pull it out? I've never seen a headlight in the way of pulling out a washer tank. Go through the fender well.
