Question:

Sleeping with a Hairdryer?

Do anyone think that sleeping with a hairdryer on is crazy? Does anyone know anybody that does? I have a friend that has her hairdryer on all the time. She said it‘s the only way she can go to sleep because it keeps her warm and the sound makes her relax. I know that it‘s a big fire risk. Just wondering what everyone thinks about that.

Answer:

While it is not safe for her to do this (major fire hazzard) it is very common for people to need white noise to relax and get to sleep.my used a fan forever for the same reason.can't sleep without the hummmm.mind you it won't do much for keeping her warm! Tell her to find something safer.if warmth is an issue what about a space heatershould create white noise as well
No, they are not 4 wheel drive, and they suck when driving in the snow, if you are not careful, the truck easily will go into a slide and you often feel as if you have NO control. It is scary. Also because they are government issued vehicles, they DO NOT need to be inspected. What would help when delivering mail is for the customer to CLEAR the snow near and around your mailbox.
No they are 2 wheel drive. In Alaska they have some of their fleet required with 4X4 but I'm pretty sure we don't have any here in the lower 48.
It sounds like she needs a 'white noise' machine to help her sleep. Both my kids and I use one, can't sleep without it, even take it on trips! I don't want to advertise on this site, and I have no connection with this company, but this machine is something she should look for. It doesn't give off heat, but she can buy a nice, soft fleece throw to wrap up in and feel warmer. What she is doing is extremely dangerous. If there should be a fire, she would be terribly burned and disfigured, if she survived, as she's be sleeping right next to the fire source. Tell her to talk to her mom about getting a sleep machine.
Apart from the extreme fire danger I don't see a problem. Maybe it's time for your friend to substitute this dangerous comforter with something else. maybe she could make a cd of the hairdryer running. I think that would probably help with the electric bill too. Hairdryers cost alot to run. As for keeping warm, an electric blanket should do it.
