Question:

Smoke detector range rating?

How much area does a smoke detector cover? I heard that it is generally good for 900sq/ft which would be a 30x30 area. Is this true?

Answer:

For what purpose ? To minimize heat build up in your attic so that you'll have a cooler home ? If yes, then my sugestion would not be to put money in to placing heat resistent panels on your roof that may shorten the life expectancy of your roof .I'd put a decent exhaust fan at one end of your attic blowing out and one the same size at the opposite end pulling air in . These fans are + - $65.00 each at H Depot and any good electrician can wire them .set them to come on at + - 85 degrees.. What do you think ?
I would not use studs but remember to put motor grease in the soles of his feet to prevent the snow from balling up which could cause catastrophic fetlock and tendon injuries because the horse would be on rockers. Carry a folding hoof pick and if it feels as though he is not standing on all four feet but rocking stop and pick his feet out. Ride on a steady contact and if the horse feels as though he is slipping, loosen the reins so that he has complete head and neck freedom, sit up tall and let him pick his own way. He has no wish to fall and if he does start to slip badly or actually fall then jump off clear and when he has found his legs check him over and remount.
Yeah, I keep a fire extinguisher in the house for that reason
