Question:

Smoke detectors beeping in my house?

We live in a new house (first owners). We moved in about 11 months ago, and have never had a problem with the smoke detectors. Then last week came along, and something weird happened. They started beeping. And I don't mean just beeping randomly - they were beeping in a pattern. It's an incredibly high pitched sound that makes you go insane on a couple of them, which lasts for a couple seconds, and then a REALLY loud one that goes for about 5 seconds. We can't pinpoint which is responsible for what, but the bottom line is that this is weird. However, my mom came home, opened up some windows, and it eventually went away. But now it's back again. It's LOUD. It woke our entire house up and we don't know what to do. Is this a common problem, or is this a concern?

detectors are only good for 10 years - maybe its time to replace replace all batteries - they should be changed every year
Yeah, its called DIY (do it yourself). Do what real punks do: steal clothes from anywhere you can, dumpster dive, go to the Salvation Army, borrow from friends, raid other people's closets when you go to parties, then blow your dish washing job paycheck on a pair of leather pants from a fetish shop, then dumpster dive for some food and panhandle for ciggies and booze because you are broke. Then you learn how to sew, get safety pins and alter all those clothes you bought for a $1 a piece or stole, into your own creations.
