i smoke near my laptop is that bad?
Smoking corrodes the connectors. It will cause problems eventually. So quite or outside withe the smokes.
I don't have an official response. Don't know what that would be based on. Although the smoke and fuses can't help but make their way into the computer. That really can't be good. I think you should reconsider.
Absolutely. The particles from the smoke are being pulled into the laptop by the cooling fans. It will build up on the interior fan(s) and other parts and eventual cause them to fail, the laptop to overheat (it takes less than a second of overheating) and damage the processor and system board. Repair bill - in the hundreds of dollars.

smoking never harm your laptop but please try to not smoke because of your health. Please think for yourself not for your laptop.
