i want to make a bong. ive heard that heating up the plastic can like release chemicals that can be bad but i have a slide i can use. will the rest of the bottle heat up and be bad for me or will it be ok?
i have heard of this method and have heard many a success story. However. When you alter plastic by heating it changes the molecular structure of the plastic and will seep into the water and ultimately you will possibly inhale those particles. People heat food in plastic containers in the microwave and eat it all the time. If you have ever heated liquid in a plastic container and the line where the liquid meets the plastic is all rough and icky looking... All that is plastic that has melted and seeped into your food.. I say go buy one professionally made with glass and leave the plastic for recycling. IF you just have to have something make a pipe out of foil... or make your bong out of a soda can... Metal is much less toxic... LOL
it will pretty much be bad for you. whay make a bong just go and buy one you can get some bongs pretty cheap.
There's more plastic in the brown you're smoking than you're going to get inhaling it through a bottle.
the smoke is hot enough to release some of the chemicals from the plastic, but it won't be that bad, it may do a bit of damage over a long period of time, but nothing to be concerned about.
PLASTIC IS BAD! use glass, stone, metal, wood or organic but never plastic. Burning or heating plastic creates toxicor hazardous gases. Save yourself the hassle and just go buy a real glass blown one ($20 and up). Or do what we used to do when we were young and make pipes using aluminum cans, apples, potatoes, heck I even made a pipe out of a beer bum. Not water though. PLASTIC IS BAD!
