Question:

So I'm removing carpet at my grandma's house tomorrow?

And I'm just wondering if I should be worried about asbestos being in the carpet or underneath? The carpet doesn't seem very old, but im just wondering, I don't want to be ripping carpet with asbestos in it. thanks

Answer:

Look for ones that have sound and light. These detectors work on batteries and often the electric is out already during a fire. The light will help during these times. Most have a little cricket like beep that will let you know if the battery life is low. The recommended change twice a year is sufficient, just change when you change your clock in spring and fall. Remember that you need several in an average house. One on every floor. Garage or laundry room. Kitchen and hallway to bedrooms. Also many come with carbon monoxide detectors built in also. These are wonderful in the fact that many people or overcome with carbon monoxide fumes that they are not even aware of
i beleive theres an IEU chord wich can reset your cars computer. if its 2004 and up you probly wont be able to get to that chord though. if your car is before that year you should be able to find it around the battery area. just unplug for 15 20 minutes and plug back in. youll have to reset your clock and stuff tho. your odometer might reset also but it would fix the problem.
