Question:

Soffit Vent Installation?

I had an energy audit done today and the guy said my attic is way to hot, like 40 degrees hotter than outside hotYeahAnyway, my soffits are only vented every 12'I took the facia and soffit down in one area after he left, and what they did before I bought the house is just put aluminum facia and soffit over the wooden stuff that the house was built withInstead of ripping all the wooden stuff down, and then all the aluminum stuff down, can I just install soffit vents you can get at the big box stores? The only issue I see with that is the aluminum soffit sits a little lower than the wooden stuff, so when I put a vent on the aluminum, there will be a little gap between the vent and the wooden soffit above itIs that going to be OK? Thank you

Answer:

Become more tolerant of it!
Don't consume milk productsVery simple.
yeah seriouslythe only way to combat the symptoms of lactose intolerance is to not eat dairy productslactose intolerance occurs because the people who have it don't have a particular enzyme - lactasethis is needed to break down the sugar in dairy products called lactosethus, when lactase isn't present and one consumes lactose, you get sick.
Cool whip is lactose freeSome people with lactose intolerance can still manipulate a little cheese, on account that the lactose in cheese gets become lactic acidIce cream, I've located, is the worst thing you could eat if your lactose illiberalI reccomend Silk soymilk as a milk alternative, tastes first-rate.
the soffit vents allow the attic to pull outside air into the attic and exchange the hot air in the attic through the gable vents or the whirley-bird vents located near the roof ridge - the vents that you apply to the soffit should have screen wire to the backside and if you have vents available that are larger than 12 inched long it would be best to use those type vents cutting through the aluminum and the plywood of the soffit is not an easy job and if the house is fairly new to you and you had a home inspection and this inspector person made note of the soffit vents that they were working OK then you might be able to go back on the home warranty for this repair/fix/reparation if that is not possible then you may consider some day labor to do the cutting/saw work you mark where to cut [[ inside the vent area ]] and then you supervise the application of the vents too bad the people that did the aluminum work were so false with the soffit vents use the black dry wall screws and check for the correct length so your aluminum soffit is not buckled out of shape the dry wall screws do not rust and that is why I suggest them to you plus the phillips head is easy to drive and will hold touch-up aluminum paint .
