Question:

soft edges for aluminum can jewelry?

i'm making a charm bracelet using scraps of an aluminum can(going green!) they are small little scraps that i (of course) sanded down to make the edges softerhowever, they could still be harmful because of how thin the aluminum issimple question: how could i make them thicker? what type of solution could i buy or make that would sort of create a thick clear coat for my charms? i was thinking maybe i could just cover the charms in hot glue (since i already have it)but it would create a rubbery texture and might cloud the designthen i was thinking of just using many many layers of clear coat nail polish (since i already have it) but that's just too time consuming.
