Question:

Solar collector ?

Where I live is about 35 C in the shade. So it's pretty hot and I thought I could use the heat to warm up water or something.I want to put a solar collector on the terrace but I'm not shure how to build it.Can you explain to me how ? And please I'm 15 so don't make it too scientific XD

Answer:

A bag would conform more to the shape and quantity of the ice and the contents whereas a box is a fixed size and requires the same amount of room whether it is full or not.
A cool box put ice in it.
Use some dry ice-it will keep cold for days(for shipping, etc.) Use with care-it can burn you.
If you are asking about lunch storage options, I suggest a lunch bag or lunch box that has the built in freezer packsI use both types depending on how much I am wanting to keep coldThe brand name I use is called zero DegreesThe bags are stored in the freezer and when you are ready to take your cold items like salads, drinks, or fruits they will stay chilled for you without having any additional messy ice packs or freezer packs- allowing more space for foods or drinksI use these for my children too, so I know their lunches do not have a chance to spoil and no extra items for them to possible misplace.
You can get a black plastic or metal drum and just fill it with water, and put it out in the sunBy the end of the day it'll be quite warm - warm enough to use for washing dishes or a showerAnything you can do to increase the surface area of your collector is goodAnother way to do it is lay out several hundred feet of black garden hose on the ground, and keep it full of waterWhen you need hot water, just crack the spigot and collect it from the end of the hose500 feet of hose will hold about 6 gallons of waterDK
