Question:

something to cover my window? protective film?

I am looking for something realativly inexpensie to cover my large picture window with, something that keeps the heat and sun out.I allready have drapes but they do no justice, i dont like the window because it shines on my plasma.thanks

Answer:

YOU CAN GO TO MOST HARDWARE STORES (HOME DEPOT, LOWES, ACE HARDWARE) AND GET MIRROR FILM OR A VARIETY TINT FILM AND IT COMES WITH A KIT THAT IS FAIRLY EASY TO APPLY. THIS IS WHAT I HAVE DONE TO MY REAR BEDROOM WINDOW BECAUSE IT IS FACING EAST AND BLINDS WERE NOT ENOUGH
you get some dark tint from an auto parts store and use that - it also cuts down on uv so furniture doesn't fad. Your local tint shop might even come out a do it - one in my are does residential applications
I have seen a lot of people use tin foil. No joke. The chrome reflects the sun away from interring through the window..
I have seen a protective film that you can buy and put on your windows yourself at Home Depot. I am sure they most likely sell it at Lowes also. Hope this helps you.
I am not fond of the protective film, unless it is installed by a professional. Even that will not keep all of the glare off your plasma. I have seen mesh screens that can be installed and controlled with a remote. They were not expensive and they will give you a sleek, modern look. My friend has them in his home in Arizona, where the sun and heat is brutal. They are working out really well for him.
