Question:

spilled milk on my carpet ,milk went sour,?

washed carpet with carpet cleaner,it has dried but has left an awfull smell, how do i get rid of smell, any ideas

Answer:

Milk is an acid, and an alkaline material such as baking soda will neutralize the odor. Cover the stained area with baking soda, sprinkle with water, and leave the mixture there for a few hours or overnight, then sweep up the loose baking soda and vacuum up the rest.
after it has dried, put plain baking soda on it and rub it in with a stiff brush, let it sit over night, then vacuum the next morning
Use ordinary vinegar on spill.Mop off and let dry.It will smell vinegary for a while, and then be ok.
