Computer designers are in the process of trying to do just that,a photon gate. It is a very competitive and secretive area but certain things are known by me. to confine a photon of light requires it to be kept in a constant state of acceleration. The industry has come up with a reverse opal a sort of resonance cavity designed after the opal. A photon could,theoretically be maintained in this cavity indefinitely. If they figure out how to do it and how to release of photon on command they will have a light gate that would be a quantum leap for computer speed.
Well, that was very interesting. The guy had RED goggles and his laser light was green. Hmm. Not sure what brand he was using.
