I am in massachusetts. Highly recommend going to home depot or lowes and renting a rug doctor for about 25 bucks and buying their carpet cleaning solution for 10 bucks. The rental is for 24 hours. It works. Gets rid of pet smells, pet hair, dirt, coffee stains, fruit punch stains,and makes carpets (and sofas!) look brand new, yes even white carpets. Don't fall for those sears and stanley steemer commercials. They are truly too much money.
