Question:

Stolen T-Mobile Cell Phone?

(if you havent had this happen or your not 100% sure. please dont answer!)My best friend had his T-Mobile phone stolen 5 days ago. It was a RZR V3. He didnt cancel the contract or the SIM card, so he could see who was being called, to attempt to find out who took it. The calls were all over the place, in different cities around here. Is there anyway to track his phone and/or SIM to see what area he lives in? Maybe the handset? Hes dreading calling T-Mobile because he owes money, but could they do anything? And finally, what happens if the SIM card gets changed?

Answer:

he doesnt need to wait and go ahead and cut off the service because its really hard for tmobile to track down who is using itthe longer he waits he gonna have to end up paying for the minutes the person who stole it used. The tmobile are not gonna track the person who did it theyre just going to say cut the service offhe can still get another tmobile phone wit a new sim card and the person who stole wont be able to access the stolen phone cuz their gonna cut off that sim card service
He needs to cancel ASAP, or he will pay that other guy phone calls. Well is kinda useless to track the cellphone, is a cellphone not a land phone doesn't gave you address, is pretty hard unless is important.
He needs to inform T-Mobile about the theft immediately. T-Mobile will charge your friend for the calls and sent text messages the thief sent. It would be best to prepare some proof of the theft to prove that the thief made those calls or sent those messages. Getting your phone stolen is bad, but paying for the the calls or messages of the thief is worse.
Your friend needs to cancel the phone, because the calls are not going to help find where the phone is. Cancel the phone, then file a police report. If you file the police report, T-Mobile may be able to refund you for some of the calls made. T-Mobile really can't do anything but turn the SIM card off though. If the SIM card is removed and a new one is put in, then that phone potentially belongs to someone else. Good luck!
