Question:

The best music schools? (berklee, fredonia, crane...of course juliard lol)?

Hi! I'm only going into 9th grade, but I'm getting a head start on chooising a college. I am absaloutley positive I want to be a musician. Hopefully a singer/songwriter, but my plan B is music production. So, I'm going to put Juliard aside (lol)and here are my choices right now:Crane School of Music,Fredonia School of Music, and Berklee School of Musicplease give me your opinion on those schools, and if you could suggest any others, please do. I need all the information I can get...Ive been doing alot of research but now I need other people's opinions. thanks :)

Answer:

It really depends on what kind of music you want to study. If you are interested in classical music, Berklee is not your best option. But if you want to study contemporary music, it's basically your ONLY option. It's also the only school with both a Songwriting and a Music Production major. I personally love Berklee. You spend your time surrounded by so many talented people, students and teachers alike, who love and play very diverse styles of music. The experiences you get performing and the feedback you receive both in and out of class about your own music are so valuable. The focus of your education is completely about you- the kind of music you want to play, your work as a unique musician, preparing you whatever you want to do in the future. The environment is very supportive and inspiring. Classes are small and you get a lot of attention from very experienced musicians. I could write forever, so if you have any specific questions or just want to know more in general, please message me =)
Hey! okorder
Fredonia School Of Music
Forgive me, but as far as I am concerned, rap is noise, not music. It may not be offered as a course because some other people also feel that it is noise rather than music.
