Question:

The job I want to apply for says I need a CDL class B with air brake endorsement and M endorsment?

What does that mean? I‘m going for my CDL class B but whats the whole air brake and M endorsment?

Answer:

M is a Motorcycle endorcement 99.99% of the time, you must be in a weird state that used it for something else. Air Brakes is not an endorcement, it's a restriction. Seems like the person posting that ad isn't really up on stuff. May want to call and double check. Your common endorcements are H HAZMAT N Tanker T Doubles/Triples X HAZMAT w/Tank at the same time The restrictions are a long list.
trucks come with air brakes and need that endorsement to drive the truck. the M as I see it on another site is for school bus that falls under the class B cdl license. if I were you go for the CDL A covers you for every thing. call the company you want to apply for and ask for firm answer
If I were you I would get a class A. That air brake thing just means you do the driving and inspection on a vehicle with air brakes, also may be a couple extra questions on written test. Not sure what a M endorsement is, but usually to get endorsement you have to answer extra questions about whatever the endorsement is for.
