Question:

the light is on on my car they gave me the code p0410 at auto zone?

that code means secondary air injection system fault . one of the probable causes is air pump defective or hoses blocked . can any body tell me where it is? or what part of the intake this is at . another code was for the transmission but i don‘t know what it is, but if it is throwing a code for the transmission could the transmission be bad or will it be a sensor?

Answer:

Air injection pump, aka smog pump, is driven by a belt on the front of the engine. It has hoses or tubes which then pump this air into the Exhaust Manifolds near the exhaust ports, and/or before the catalytic converter. There are also other systems that don't use a pump at all. Either way, has nothing to do with the Intake Manifold. On many vehicles, there are also diverter valves and such, which control when the air is or is not pumped. These can be controlled by engine vacuum or electrical solenoids, depending on the vehicle. This is the generic explanation of that code, but for GM I would need Make, Model, and Year for more vehicle specific info. Subaru is also slightly different. P0410 Secondary air injection system fault – The Air Injection system is monitored for faults Probable Cause[s] 1. Circuit relay defective or fuse open 2. Check connector and wiring 3. AIR pump defective or hoses blocked
The code that you are having trouble with all depends on the car you have. All cars types have there own unique and yet notorious problems. say for example my 98 ford windstar had transmission problems and every thing i researched on it came back with thousands of other people having the same issue with the same vehicle. Therefore it is important to address year, make, and model of your vehicle. If this answer has not helped try to google your problem code with the info of your car and see what you come up with.
clean off the area with some steel wool buy some JB weld Industrial size and mix it up, put over hole let dry a few hours then put another layer on and do it while it cold heat make gases escape. if its really little hole try Radiator sealer
buy a new one or a used one from auto salvage you can try stuff like bondo and they make radiator repair stuff but its just a quick repair type stuff only real way is replace it or have it doen at a radiaotor shop which is also so easy to remove and take to one for them to fix
I have a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GT (same engine). When you put the gas cap back on after filling it up, are you tightening it enough to make it click at least 3 times? If not, that could be your problem. If you do that and it still doesn't go away, take it to a repair shop for an estimate -- NOT a dealer. Dealers will charge you top-dollar and do piss-poor work. The last emissions control problem I had was a bad EGR valve, and that cost me about $350.00 to get it replaced.
