Question:

The Military says it fights for freedom of the press then why do they want the press people out of the war?

Many men ( Military ) say Get the press out and let us do our job.

Answer:

The press doesn't need to be out on the battlefield. I remember in Baghdad we had to go eat at this hotel. They had a bunch of financial advisers and such from other countries including the US helping with the new currency. Media was there as well. Damn RPG attack and the civilians are worried that we need to protect them. The media also seems to focus on the bad issues (not that they don't need to be covered or addressed) however they give it to much coverage and the good deeds we have been doing go unnoticed.
The press unfortunately does not report the news. It gives people an angle. It tells them how to see things, casts an opinion on everything. There have been periods of quiet. That is when we are doing everything right. All the heroic acts down range dont get reported in the liberal media. Not with the same fervor that negative acts do.
1. The Press does not know when to shut the F**k Up! (Screw security and lives it can make news!) 2. They report on crap that a source tells them regardless if it is true or false! (As long as it makes news!) 3. The Press does not know when to shut the F**k Up! 4. Too many times they have reported stuff they are not supposed too for security concersn (As long as it makes news!) 5. It makes people be to protective and not focused enough on the job (They do not want to be news!) 6. The Press does not know when to shut the F**k Up!
War is not a place for the press. The press will put whatever twist they want on a subject just to make a good story. 90% of what the press would report would be a based on a matter of opinion and the propaganda that individual wants to feed you. If they are for the war it would look great for the U.S. If they are against it they make us look like crap. Just remember the military is there for all of your freedoms. I think we can show them a little respect by removing the press and let them get their job done by any means necessary. If the people of the press wanted to be there so bad maybe they should have signed up...That way they would have their own STORIES to tell to whomever they wanted. Just my opinion.
If the media were as present in WW2 as they are now, we'd have lost the war! The press only wants to show the BAD side of the military. Don't believe me? Come to s.e. Virginia and watch CBS/NBC/ABC affiliate news here! If a military or ex-military person does something wrong, the first thing you hear is his NAME, RANK and DUTY STATION. But let a CIVILIAN do the same thing and you never hear where they work (unless they committed the crime at their work place). We do have on reporter who is VERY pro-military and gets involved showing the GOOD side (she came to our church and did a spot when we did a MILITARY APPRECIATION DAY service). Sometimes they can't even get the story straight. One 5 pm news cast they were talking about the USS America CV-66 and showed a video of a carrier going by with the number on the island 68..the USS NIMITZ CVN-68! I called them up about it and on the 6 pm news, they had the right ship on! They did a spot about the USS BRISCOE DD-977 (a destroyer) and had a picture of the USS MT. WHITNEY LCC-20 (a 'multi command ship). There were other screw ups too numerous to list. Guess who was on the beach when our U.S. Marines landed....in SOMALIA! Yup, the NEWS media. Really stupid! Can you imagine having that happening at Normandy Beach? I say if the media wants to record battle, give them a gun and let THEM fight, too!
