Question:

Does Imus really deserve $20 million for being fired?

The news reports say that Imus is getting $20 million to settle his suit against CBS. He was suing CBS for $120 million. And he may be back on a NYC radio station.

Answer:

I'm thinking that regardless of there financial status, if they need help, why not give it? And not everyone over there was rich and these people might be misplaced for a while, so maybe it would behoove you to try thinikng of this in a manner more personal to you; what if this was you rmom, or someone else you may care for? Should they be discounted because of social status? Isn't a person in need, a person in need?
In a home you only need a smoke detector with a carbon monoxide detector. If you want to do it up right, get the kind that can be wired together so that if one goes off they all go off. I have a smoke/CO detector in my laundry room where the water heater and furnace is, I have a smoke detector in the family room where the fire place is AND I have one upstairs in the hallway. If ANY of them goes off they ALL go off. Plus, the kind that can be wired together are also the kind that can be AC powered WITH battery backup. Wish I could show you my system. Works quite well. Wife was cooking, made too much smoke, I was down stairs, ALL alarms went off. Nobody was unaware. No fire, so no need to evacuate, just to open windows and vent out the smoke from cooking. Good luck. )
Sounds like someone needs to get a JOB.
