Question:

Tile Calculation Help!!?

I have calculated that I need 388 tiles, each 9 inches big, how many come in one box?, I need to know how many boxes to order

Answer:

The contents of the boxes vary between manufactures. You need to work out how many square feet or square metres of tiles you need and add a bit on for wastage then check the boxes as they normally state how much coverage on box will give. P.S. don't forget the adhesive.
you need 24.25 sq yds ..go to your tile shop ask how many sq yds are in a box ..divide that by 24.25 ..there's your answer ...if in uk thats 20.04 sq mtrs
i think you need to measure the size of your tile again .a 9 inch tile is very very uncommon I have been doing tile for many years and never have layed 9 inch tile there is 6 inch 8 inch and the most common will be your 12 inch tile you need to check
Peter is right, each tile manufacturer will box their tile in different size boxes (per s/f). And w/o know the s/f of the area to be tiled no one can tell you how many tiles you need. Most tile is sold by the box now any ay. So in most cases you ll need to buy whole boxes plus waste for cuts. Any questions or if you come up with more info you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there. GL
