Question:

Tips for bench press?

tomorow in the football tryouts we have to lift 100lb at bench press any tip for it?

Answer:

There should be a ridged part of the bar its like Put ur hands thumbs length to the outside of the length part, and tell your spotter to lift the bar when you count to 5. So count 1,2,3,4,5. As soon as he's lifting it take a deep breath and slowly bring it down to you're chest, and push it all the way up. Breath Out, Then bring back down, and repeat, etc.
all bars at the instant are not created the comparable...diverse bars have diverse weights the time-honored bars are 45lb yet they arrive in all diverse weights usually whilst a individual bench presses they might not upload the weights of the bar because of the fact whilst using the two palms to strengthen a 45lb bar this is in simple terms to basic....attempt doing bench press with loose weights that'll convey you up some
Uh, it's a little late for tips for tomorrow. What kind of coach determines how good a football player is by his bench press? I can show you 25 guys who can bench press a lot but wouldn't be worth a **** as football players. Are you trying out for, a bench press team or a football team? And what program has football tryouts in the middle of July? ___________ Bryce Harper - I KNOW what weight lifting's good for. I've done it far longer than you have. Any coach that picks a team based on someone's bench press is a moron. One example is, most bench pressers with shorter arms can lift more, pound for pound, than those with longer arms. That doesn't make them better football players. Upper body strength is MUCH less important to a lineman than legs. Odd that a football player doesn't know that. I've never heard of a high school team that has tryouts. Every one I know of, never cut. RB#24 - You lie too. No state allows organized practice the year round. Not ONE state allows any organized activity after the middle of December up until its allowable start date for spring practice, nor does any allow organized summer practices to start before the second week of August. Lifting's not an organized practice. It's a voluntary strength and conditioning program. You're not in high school anyway. You just got done playing Pop Warner. What do you know?
It sounds like a lot, but it really isn't. Put the end of your pinky finger a thumb's lenght away from the smooth part of the bar. Keep both feet flat on the ground and tuck them under the bench. Breath in while going down, and breath out while coming up. Keep your face looking up, not at the bar. When you go up, do not make your arms straight, because if you lock your elbows you could be injured. You want to go up until you have the slightest of bends in your arms. Chang- My high school's football tryouts are the first of June, so mid- July is not that early. Also, bench press isn't everything, but it's important. It's good for wide recievers and lineman to be good at benching, because they use the same muscles when they push the other players off the line of scrimmage. I don't think you know football.
