Question:

Tire wobbly for about 5 seconds?

My 2001 VW Cabrio, The drivers side tire has been shaking for only about 5 seconds then smoothes out. I have had the tires aligned, changed the shocks, springs, and had all the ball joints checked. everything is ok.What else would make my drivers side tire wobble.

Answer:

Did you have the tires balanced? also how many miles are on it?
Check your rubber bushes. Get the tyres balanced. Get your brake pads and disc checked.
That used to happen with a certain kind of tires, way back when, especially if the weather was cold. When sitting, the tire would set in a misshapen form from the weight of the car being in just one place. Once you started rolling, the tire(s) would soon regain their round shape and be OK. Try swapping the offending wheel tire with one on the other side of the car, and see if the problem follows the tire. If it doesn't, you have a problem with a dragging brake, worn-out bearing or some such. If it does follow the tire, most likely it is just an old, tired tire. Replacing it would probably stop the temporary wobble - if you're worried about it.
