Question:

toastmaster roaster!?

does anyone know if you have to put water in the pan before inserting the removable pan?

Answer:

Glass is typically melted, and then shaped while it is in this plastic stateIn fact many of the forming techniques for glass are very similar to forming techniques for plasticsGlass and ceramics are both made from oxide materialsThe oxides of Silicon and Aluminum are usually the major constituents in both of theseCeramics have a defined crystal structure, where glasses do notMany consumer ceramics (e.gdishes, toilets) are vitrified meaning that the individual ceramic particles are glued together in a glass matrix rather than sintered where the particles bond directly to one another.
I never do put water in the roaster before putting in the removable pan! But I do line the removable pan with aluminum foil to have easy clean upSaves me a great deal of trouble.
