Question:

Toshiba Laptop adapter wont work?

I have a Toshiba Satellite Laptop that I bought about 2 1/2 years ago. 2 months ago, the adapter that came with the laptop just stopped working. I bought a new adapter and it a few weeks later, that wont work either. What's wrong. Bad Adapters? Is it my laptop? Laptop battery dead?

Answer:

most adapter salers have 1 Year Warranty, if the adapter is bad, you can ask the saler to change a new one. but the battery's life is 300-500 times, maybe the laptop battery is dead, you can read more a bout battery info from the site
How do you know that the power adapter is good? Use a Multimeter to measure the DC voltage come out of the ends. Look at the Output voltage on the adapter brick. Should say something like +30 Volts 3.0 Amps (for example). Then put the multimeter in DC mode at something over 30Volts to measure the end that goes into the laptop. You will have black and red leads from the multimeter, use the black lead to touch the outer metal part. Then use the red lead to touch the inner part of the connector. (try not to touch the black lead; get someone to help you). Anyway, you should see a voltage around 30 volts (or whatever your brick says), If you don't, then the brick is bad. If the brick is not bad, then you got real issues Hope this helps
Will it run on the AC Adapter and just not charge? If so it is most likely that the battery needs to be replaced If this dosen't fix the problem then most likely the problem is with the charging port where you plug the adapter in It might be broken, cracked, whatever. Otherwise it may be a Motherboard problem In either case I would get in contact with a Computer Technician. I Hope I've Helped!
