Question:

True or False: You dont use a broom and dustpan to clean up chemical spills.?

This is probably obviously true. But then what are they used for then? Please give examples. thanks!

Answer:

Hot water bottle or a pad you heat in the microwave.
In the UK plastic is taking over from copper and you can get pipe and fittings for plastic that are push fit (with an internal sleeve for the pipe) which are also push fit for copper. So by all means mix the tw. For the novice the plastic fittings (john guest is a reasonable brand) are easier to use and are passed by the water regs people.
When I lived in a cold climate, I found that multiple lightweight blankets (as opposed to a heavy comforter) with a plastic tarp separating two of them proved to be effective. Not certain why the tarp made a more efficient barrier, but it did. Inexpensive, too. I think that I paid less than five dollars for mine.
