Question:

Tv vs lcd monitor for gaming?

I was recently wondering What is better for gaming and less delay. Ussually delay is not noticed by regular day to day gamers but it is crutial when playing a first person shooter.I was wondering what a typical response time is for a xbox 360 hooked to a lcd tv vs a game consle hooked up to a lcd computer monitor. I am a hardcore gamer and I want to have the least delay possible.I really want a bigger screen size but I will sacrifice screen size over performance by buying a monitor if necessary. I have heard of the newer tv's with a (game mode) but I am skeptical if it is the m/s response time of a monitor. If anyone can help me ty.

Answer:

Lower response time is better for fps games. 8 ms response time should really be the maximum. You should get a tv if you're using an xbox 360. Unless you can find an lcd screen that you like that has HDCP compatibility and an hdmi port (although you could get a dvi to hdmi cable, or whatever cable you need to connect to the screen) then you should get a tv. Usually when you buy a screen they show you the grey to grey response time which is usually 2ms. That is just a marketing gimmick. That is lower than black to white response time since there's is lower difference in contrast between the colors.
Hell no. Im playing game and watching movie all day with a Sony 32PO LCD , If you want the model its KDL 32L4000. I cant play with a 17 - 20 '' TV anymore XD. Gaming is Amazing on it and so movie. Youll experience a new gameplay with a big TV in front of you. Just an advice if you have a monster PC and play gaming, get a 1080P. Be sure that you have a PC in behind the TV. you clearly wont regret it. PS. Boost your Graphic card Digital vibrance ( Color ) to 70 - 100 depends how you like it.
