I should also add that I need a vacuum cleaner that has strong suction and is good for picking up cat hair.
I have a couple of Oreck vacuum cleaners. They have disposable bags. They are powerful and light weight. You need the Oreck hand vacuum that goes with the upright Oreck as there is no hose on the main unit. Oreck has a small vacuum with all the hose attachments and it also has a disposable bag. Very handy for doing stairs. I've had mine for about eight years with no problems at all.
