Answer:

It hardens when placed under stress such as hammering and bending. It is also very heavy compared to other industrial metals. I think this comes under the density banner. It is non-magnetic. It is also the base for a plethora of plating metals such as gold, silver, nickel etc. where these metals would not adhere as well on their own.

Nothing, if you have looked the policy over and agree. If you disagree, you file a complaint with your state insurance commissioner. But it sounds to me, like your house was vacant - otherwise, you would have noticed them inside your house, removing the copper piping. It's a standard exclusion, that once the house is vacant or unoccupied for 30 days, the coverage for theft, vandalism and water damage from burst pipes is automatically suspended. Then they cancel you, because they don't insure vacant houses on homeowners policies.
Depending on the type of policy you haveit may not cover theft. Some Dwelling and Fire policies do not cover theft. If your policy excludes theft.there is nothing State Farm can do for you. Complaints to the insurance departmentlawyerscan't change that. You will have to pay out of pocket to have the repairs done. In the future, keep a lock on your crawl space door - that will help to keep people out from under your home. If your AC unit is in a place that's easy to accesswhen you have it replaced, talk to your repair person about moving it to a better location. See if your AC guy can get you a used unit. That will help you save some money. If you have a security system installed in your hometalk to your security company. Many now offer an option of putting a monitor on the AC unit so if someone tries to steal the copper out of itit will trigger the homes alarm.
Your homeowner's policy should cover theft. The question here, however, is whether or not your home was secured sufficiently to prevent the occurrence. I can understand the exterior unit being taken, but copper from the inside of the house ? Was this house occupied, or under construction/renovation, or similar ?
