Question:

VW Golf back door lock broken?

I have a 2000 VW Golf. For some time now when pressing the trunk unlock button you can hear the motor trying but it doesnt unlock. you have to unlock it manually with the key. A week ago I tried to unlock the back door(trunk) manually with the key. The key got stuck. I tried turning it and it felt like something came loose. I continued to twist the key and it felt like the lock wasnt even intact. When you try to unlock it, it is loose and nothing is gripping or locking on to the key. Now the trunk wont even open. Good thing is that it stayed locked so it is secure but now I dont have access to my trunk. Is this something I can fix on my own? Is there a part that needs to be replaced? If I do have to take my car in how much should this cost? I just dont want to get ripped off. Im broke! LolThank you

Answer:

Sell the convertible because the cat hair isn't going anywhere. :)
Yes Sitting in front of the fire with hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows while cuddling with your significant other wrapped up in a cozy blanket.
Nope, except maybe a nice bottle of wine and a great guy to share it with.
The other one is a jumble of stuff. They can't really make a lot of mess, as we recently moved house and 90% of their stuff was thrown out or goven to charity. The kids tidy up their rooms when I ask them to, (hide it under beds or in drawers), I usually go in every couple of weeks and do it properly, but generally it's not too bad. The messy room is usually because that child is a gadget freak and has cables running everywhere and every surface has something that runs on mains power or batteries. I cleaned it up properly while he was at school this week. When he got home, he yells, Holy crap, what happened to my room? He wasn't happy about it because he couldn't find anything. I said sometimes things must be sacrificed to vacuume the house. Now I'm just going to have to put it all on his bed and vacuume then let him put it all back. Ah well, at least it's not filthy clothes or festering food. Mind you, if they were given half the chance. Yikes.
