Question:

want to combine2 10 gallon fish tanks with clear pvc tubing, will it work? how can it be done if so? thanks =)

just needed to know before i ran into a potential disaster! lol -any tidbits of advise would be gladly accepted =)gt;

Answer:

Test the pipe first, make even holes, use a lot of superglue, and above all: Don't do it with the tanks full.
just buy a new tank its safer.you dont want to do it put water in then its breaks everywhere
the best advice you can ever get for a project like this.... use acrylic tanks!!! unless you have the specialized equipment for glass cutting (and the requisite skill) or you are using a professional for this.. odds are NOT in your favor that this will turn out well
Hi, without any details it's difficult speculate but if you have never done anything like this before successfully or the tanks contain living creatures I would say forget it-the potential for disaster is VERY great! As a caveat have a look at the link below for what is possible with a great deal of money, time engineering know-how.
It will work. But you have to let the experts do the drilling of the tank glass. This is easily done. In fact, some marine hobbyists with sumps are familiar with this. Find one and ask him for advice and the proper fittings to install. The only difference I see is that you will use clear plastic tubing instead of the normal PVC pipes used by marine hobbyists.
