weight lifting - bench press?

i have just turned 16 and weigh about 10 stone.if i bench press 20kg will it do much building do my chest muscle mass. im doing 20 cus iv just started. any tips?

Answer:

i don't think so because to build muscle mass you need to do a weight that you can do only 4-5 reps of. I am 17, 9stone and bench press 100kg to build muscle and 70kg to build endurance. Try to chose a weight that you can only do a few reps in strict form. Do about 3-4 sets of these. To build chest muscle you can also try pec fly.
