I'm not sure but my 2000 Dakota had a recall on the ball joint's . Your Durango might have one also . I would contact a different dealer and inquire about it . One that has no knowledge of your truck.
Most people don't have crystal balls to see the future of your car. How the f*** can anybody find a fault like that? Unless it was an 'in your face' defect, nobody can pick it. If in fact it was extremely noticeable, you would of heard or felt something earlier. Just move on in life, and stop being a typical jerk off looking to make a few dollars!
Alloy wheels are usually made of aluminum, but there are other materials besides aluminum they use instead of the old fashion steel wheel. They are stronger and lighter, not to mention no need for hub caps.
