I have actually experienced something similar myself -- in my last job I was doing some testing work on a gas boiler which must have weighed half as much as me, it got dislodged and I ended up having to catch it one-handed. There's nothing supernatural involved. It's just adrenalin.

The impure iron is called 'pig iron' 4 Refining in an electric arc furnace or oxygen converter, to remove excess carbon from the pig iron This is followed by Rolling or casting the refined Iron to produce useful products. The product of the refined steel furnace is relatively pure iron (containing about 0.15% carbon) known as 'mild steel'. Additional carbon may be added to form harder 'carbon steels'.The iron may be combined with other metals to form steel (eg, chromium is added to produce stainless steel) Cast iron is ron which has more carbon (about 3%) and silica in it. It has a lower melting point than mild steel, and can be formed into many shapes such as engine blocks and pumps
