Question:

What are some cellular machinery or molecules that use ATP?

In Biology my class is studying Respiration and Photosynthesis in depth (dark and light reactions; electron transport, glycosis, and krebs cycle) and we have an independant project. My problems is I'm not sure what cellur machinery is (he said those is what he calls them). Does it refer to organelles even smaller than mitochondria and the other cell parts (do they even exist)? I'd just like a link or a phrase to google so I know what I should be looking for.

Answer:

-ose is an ending that indicates a carbohydrate, such as glucose or lactose. How this could indicate cellular machinery is a mystery. About the closest process requiring energy I can think of is cyclosis or endocytosis; both require ATP...
