Question:

What are the additive and Multiplicative inverse of -3?

Can you answer the question above?thanksKelly

Answer:

When additive inverses are added the sum is 0. When multiplicative inverses are multiplied the product is 1. Since -3 + 3 0, the additive inverse is +3 Since (-3) x (-1/3) 1 the multiplicative inverse is (-1/3) This is one over the original (-3) which is -1/3
The additive inverse is 3 The multiplicative inverse is -1/3
