Turbine flow meter: when the fluid flows through the turbine flow, the fluid rotates the rotor. The rotational speed of the rotor is related to the velocity of the fluid. The flow or volume is deduced from the mean fluid velocity of the rotor. A turbine flowmeter can accurately measure clean liquids and gases. Like the PD flowmeter, the turbine flowmeter also produces recoverable pressure errors and also requires moving parts.
Differential pressure flowmeter (DP): the most common flow technology, including orifice flowmeter, V cone flowmeter, Venturi tube and sonic nozzle. The DP flowmeter can be used to measure the flow rate of most liquids, gases, and vapors. The DP flowmeter has no moving parts, is widely used and easy to use. But when it is blocked, it will cause pressure loss and affect accuracy. The accuracy of flow measurement depends on the accuracy of the pressure transmitter.
Electromagnetic flow meter: electromagnetic flowmeter has a conductive fluid flowing through the electromagnetic field, through the measurement of voltage to obtain fluid velocity. The electromagnetic flowmeter has no moving parts and is unaffected by fluids. The measurement of conductivity is accurate when the tube is full. The electromagnetic flowmeter can be used to measure the flow velocity of a slurry fluid.
Ultrasonic flow meter: propagation time method and Doppler effect method are commonly used in ultrasonic flowmeter to measure the average velocity of fluid. Like other speed meters, it is an instrument for measuring volume flow. It is without ultrasonic flowmeter, if the transmitter installed in the pipeline outside without insertion. It is suitable for almost all liquids, including slurries, with high accuracy. But the contamination of the pipe can affect accuracy.
