Question:

What are the most common problems do you face with vacuum cleaners ?

For a school project, I need to know the most common and annoying problems that you people are facing with vacuum cleaners. Try to be creative and just write whatever comes to your mind. Thanks ppl :D

Answer:

hair gets in the beater bearings and brushes and jams and burns up the belt. The other is I can't find bags for an expensive sears vacuum.
I've had several... Hair gets in the brush attachments of the cleaning tools The belt somehow gets twisted Loose dust and dirt clings to the opening of the bag so when you change the bad, it kinda poofs in the air or falls back on the floor The vacuum runs over its own cord (well..it doesn't just run over its own cord...obviously...but the cord gets in the way) My old hoover vacuum used to always get stuff trapped in the flexible hose and I had to use a coat hanger to pry it back out Sometimes they smell odd when in use...like old dust or something.
Stuff will get stuck in the belt of the vacuum which makes the vacuum have a burning smell.
The power cord falls out of the electrical wall socket many times during vacuuming.. Makes me want to chunk the whole thing out the door. 2nd is breaking a belt. My carpet sometimes has loose strings and it causes the belt to break. Allergy to dust mites kicked up into the air by the beater bar.Makes me sick literally.
The most common problems people have with their vacuums are: 1. They are too heavy to carry up and down stairs. 2. The attachments get lost. 3. The canister vacuums get tangled and caught on furniture. 4. The cords get in the way and easily fall out of the electrical socket. 5. They are too powerful and suck up bathroom rugs and fringe on rugs, or not enough suction. 6. Hardwood floor attachments only have a small hole in the center instead of the entire width of the attachment. 7. Rug beater (carpet attachments) eat rugs and get hair wrapped around the beater bar. 8. They are too loud. 9. Bags are difficult to find and are expensive. 10. Bagless vacuums are difficult to empty. 11. They start to smell like something is burning. Hope that helps!
