Question:

what are the relevant health and safety regulations regarding manual lifting?

I have recently started a new job in a large shop that sells second hand furniture.I work in the back in a makeshift warehouse. Is it right for two people to stack washing machines in rows two high or against a wall three high? I don't think it is safe(Imagine the damage one could cause if it fell onto someone) but don't know where to look to find the relevant hse info to present to my employer. we have no safety gear, no steel toe cap boots not even gloves. when I asked I was told the reason that the management wear boots is because head office recommends them but it is not compulsory. I have not had an induction either I was told I could read a manual they have but I don't get any time while working and am not allowed to take it off the premises.

Answer:

Yeah he innovated it didn't he? I once he read it was actually a botched stunner/jawbreaker by Johnny but on watching the tape he liked it, made it his own move and the rest is history!
all good answers so far, except for the rubber gloves which are pointless. Easiest way to prevent ESD is to leave the power cable connected, but power turned off at the wall socket. Then just touch the metal casing from time to time.
Yeah and had a mullet . If you watch awa on espn calssic they all did and every jobber Mr Perfect destroyed in a match lol
