Because they don't crash all that often and if they provided for every eventuallity, there wuold be no leg room or any carry ons
for your info . . . most airlines are using a fire retardant blanket. the blanket that you use onboard a plane when your feeling cold will not catch fire or not get burn in case of fire. that is why you should not bring down / get any blanket from a plane because it is one expensive blanket.
I'm using the dxl15522xJ , It is strong but light which helps me be fast.
