Question:

what bottom bracket and crankset work with a K2 Red Zone?

I got a new k2 red zone to do my first triathlon and i don't know which bottom bracket and crankset work with the bike. I know it's english threaded and has a 68mm bb shell and i know it is an isis bike. or can i just use any type of bottom bracket with a 68mm english threaded bb and crankset? also, and cheaper recommendations on those parts?

Answer:

Your bottom bracket has to fit a 68mm English threaded bottom bracket and have a spindle that matches the crank that you buy. A Isis bottom bracket would have to be used with an Isis crank. Is there something wrong with the crank that is on the bike? Why do you need to change it? Knowing this would make it much easier to make a good suggestion EDIT: If all that you bought was a bare frame, your bike is going to be very expensive unless you already have most of the parts you need. Building a bike from parts costs 2-3 times as much as buying a complete bike. You should buy a crank that will match the rest of the components that you will use. Some websites offer build kits for bikes, this might be the best way to build up your bike. Buying individual components will mean that you will also pay shipping on each item you buy unless you can find somewhere that ships for free
