Question:

What colour does light magenta and light green make when mixed together?

And also, what colour does light yellow and light blue make when mixed together? Thanks (:

Answer:

Jake, This is very easy to understand... Put all light together to get white... this is due to ADDITIVE COLOUR mixing. Because 'white' light is composed of all the light colours... when you bring them all together, you get white light as a result. Mixing paint together gets black... this is due to SUBTRACTIVE colour mixing. Paint appears a certain colour because it absorbs every other colour except for the paint's colour. So blue paint absorbs every colour except blue. and red pain absorbs every colour except red. So eg. If you mis blue and red... first the blue absorbs every thing and only spits out blue... But if you mix with Red.., it will absorb this blue as well, and spit out red (which has already been absorbed by the blue paint).. and so you get black..(well a greyish colour). This is the reason why... in light Yellow is NOT a primary colour.. as you mix Green and Blue to give Yellow... Where-as in Paint, Yellow is a primary colour (as you use Yellow with Blue to get GREEN)

White. Magenta is Red and blue together and green is the third primary colour. Together they make white light.
Magenta And Green
light magenta + light green = light puky brown. you are never gonna get white from magenta and green unless you're talking about subtractive coloring (cmyk). i'm talking about additive, rgb. you're essentially mixing a green and a form of red, which are opposite each other on the color wheel. so, puky brown. light yellow + light blue = light green
