Question:

What do you call that bar in front under your car when it hooks on the front of your two front tires?

i have a 96 ford explorer and the bar snapped off what is that called and how much to fix it?

Answer:

Front sway bar? Cost used 100, new 200, install about 50 bucks
Sway bar or tie rod. If you snapped the tie rod it wont steer. if the sway bar it will just handle horribly. The labor wont be to bad probably less than 200 plus a alignment. What the parts will cost I don't know off the top of my head.
Sounds like a tie rod. Depending on which of the 4 pieces that it's made of that broke, probably $30-70 for the part, and another $60-100 to put it in.
