Question:

What do you think of water beds?

I'm moving and I am looking into purchasing a new bed... I think a water bed would be fun....?

Answer:

We needed a new bed and friends were getting rid of their water bed. We got it from them. For us, a water bed (which we tried for one night) was uncomfortable, and I worried all night about leaks. Also, when we decided to take it down and get rid of it the next day, we had a difficult time draining the water out. Bottom line--not worth the effort.
water beds are great but they are very different from matteresses.. takes some getiing used to
They're really bad for your back. And lousy for making whoopee too. You can't lay in bed and read in a waterbed, and if the power goes out your bed gets cold. My ex had a waterbed and when we broke up it was as much of a relief to get rid of the waterbed as it was to get rid of him. There's the maintenance issue too, and you have to buy special sheets for a waterbed. It's a lot of bother.
Too heavy and some places won't allow them anymore. Try one of the air mattresses instead. Much more comfortable to sleep on. Some are high and you don't even need a bed frame. Saw them at Big Lots yesterday for $50.00.
DROP AN ELEPHANT ON IT ND IT'LL GO SPLAT!!!
