Question:

What does civil engineering involve?

Because i enjoy traveling alot? What companies are good?what does actually job involve? Is it hard? What types of things do do they handle? Good pay?

Answer:

At one time civil engineering included everything except military engineering (still being taught at West Point!)Now civil engineers specialize in earth moving (dams), large structures (bridges) and highwaysCivil engineers design large industrial buildings such as mill bents with traveling cranes to hoist and move heavy productsThe heads of many city and town maintenance departments (streets and water systems, etc.) are usually civil engineersWork affecting public safety often requires a licensed engineer to review and sign design drawings, etcPay may depend upon whether it is a large city or a small town or the size of typical projects and level of responsibilityCivil engineers likely also study the basics of electrical, mechanical and chemical engineering to collaborate on a wide variety of projects.
