Question:

what does this light in my car mean?

I just climbed in my car and this light on the pannel was on. It was this yellow one that from what I can gathher looked like an engine. I have a Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab 2004 model. What the heck is this light (in the high right coner) and what does it mean?

Answer:

YOU have no need of a sport bike.
That would b ur check engine light.
It means the computer senses something wrong, get it to a shop asap and pay to have it diagnosed by a professional.
If it is yellowish orange and looks like a wire drawing of an engine, it is probably a check engine light. A lot of chain auto parts stores will scan your computer for you free. Get the Chilton's or Haynes service manual. They will list the codes and possible corrective action. Without testing all I can do is guess but if I was backed into a corner and forced, I would guess an Oxygen Sensor in the exhaust system has died. They are an item recommended for change at 100,000 miles. The closer you are to that the greater the probability. If the test says anything about Lean Combustion you may have a vacuum leak. Read the manual, they will give you tips on it. I accept mail at my profile if I can do anything else to help you.
