Question:

What happens when you use an expired fire extinguisher?

ive got a fire extinguisher that expired in 1995, ive already replaced it, but want to know if i can have any fun with the old one before disposing of it. Are there any dangers of seeing what will happen when i pull the trigger of a 15 year old fire extinguisher?

Answer:

Oh my god …your living in my old home…. That is how my dad use to wake us up … 10 kids 7 bedrooms …master control in his room… it’s still ringing in my head. Anyhow …the little box underneath is a transformer ….it is most likely connected to a doorbell or something like that …not a smoke or heat sensor. BTW - If the hammer is external you can put cardboard between the hammer and the bell …if it’s inside the bell ….shove some tissue inside
There is nothing wrong with being confused by this, it bothers me, also. I guess that there is no way to show it in 3D. The 2D model only makes sense to me for an object approaching in a particular plane and we all know that is the way it really is.
call 911 or your non emergency police Tell them the alarm is going off. They will send someone out too look at it to check for fire. I know in my town, they will charge you for false alarms. The police and fire have better things to do then go to a false alarm.
