Question:

What Headphones would you recommend?

I have been looking around for some good quality headphones. I would have gotten Beats by Dre, but it appears that everyone and their grandma has a pair. I want something that its different. I'm thinking of getting a pair of Sol Republic headphones or the Skullcandy Crushers headphones. They are about the same price and claim that they have the best sound. If you have a pair of any of these headphones, can you leave a rate. 1 being bad 10 being excellent. Still haven't decided.

Answer:

NONE of those are good, sorry! Please go for REPUTABLE brands only such as Sennheiser, Shure, Grado, Denon, AKG, Etymotic, Bowers Wilkins, Beyerdynamic or Audio-Technica.
Audio Technica ATH-M50.
I have several Skullcandy headphones, they are great quality. Yeah I have Beats too, don't worry they're just a phase. Skullcandy is coming back, plus sometimes they go on sale for a fairly good price. The most recent one I got was Skullcandy Rock or something for $40! (:
For a pair of portable over ear headphones, I recommend you look into these For bass heavy headphones Audio Technica ATH-PRO700MK2 Creative Aurvana Live! Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 80 (This could go in either section, honestly) For balanced sound Audio Technica ATH-M30 Shure SRH-840 Takstar Pro 80 I recommend the DT770 Pro the most over all of them. It's got the best sound I've heard so far for $200. I would recommend using a FiiO E11 with it to drive it to its full potential. The main downside to the DT770 is that it doesn't fold up and has a rather long cable, so it isn't the most portable, but I use it portably all the time, so it's possible. However, if you're looking for something with the most bass, then the PRO700MK2 is easily the winner here, and it still has great sound throughout. Note- Andrew is a troll. Don't listen to him. Beats and Skullcandy are utter trash.
I would say non of the above.... Skullcandy models available in different price range- ACCORDING TO THE DESIGN PAINTED ON THEM- the Crushers for example, are available from $55 to $110. Also, their headphones and buds have good sound quality, but tend to break and are not considered durable. I think you will do so much better if you look into Sennheiser (the highst HD number of model you can afford- the better) or Audio Technika.
