i bought some cv axles yesterday at pepboys, and it looks like they gave me the cv axle without the abs ring. my car has abs. i specifically told them that i had abs. the part is already installed and now my abs light is on. what should i do?
Get the right axles. You can remove the rings from the old axles and install them on the new, but if you ordered ABS axles, that is what they should have given you.
would diminish over time How? what would change overtime? That is the kind of BS they tell you to get rid of you. By the time you realize the BS, it is too late for you to get your money back. Good luck.
Without the abs ring, the wheel speed indicator has no reference to get its indication of the vehicle moving. This also means your abs system can not determine if you are skidding with one or more wheels. This means that you will have to return the incorrect axles and get the correct ones to allow the abs to work correctly.
