Question:

What is a really hard plastic that can be CNC machined instead of aluminum?

I am working on a project, I'm creating a mold to create carbon fiber partsI would like my mold to be CNC machined but aluminum is proving to be quite expensiveI was hoping someone could suggest a good hard plastic that costs less than aluminum but is still is strong enough to be milled and withstand the production of many partsThe parts will be cured at room temperature.

Answer:

Poly Vinyl Chloride? It's hard, cheap, can be heated and molded to any shape!
